IE 5.5

Apparently, in IE 5.5 all the text on this website is underlined. I’m working on it, but it’s hard since I don’t actually have that version of IE on any machine.

Just get Mozilla instead.

Update 10:11 PM PT: Fixed already. :)

KeyCapsHack

I spent the weekend geeking out instead of getting out… but that’s fine with me because something good came out of it, at least for me. I wrote a hack for my Treo that makes typing a whole lot easier. KeyCapsHack makes typing on the Treo’s little keyboard a whole lot easier. I am such a dork.

The Mets somehow managed to sign Tom Glavine, beating out the Braves and the Phillies. Hopefully, next year will turn out a whole lot better than this year. Seriously, what are the chances of Alomar, Burnitz, Piazza and Vaughn all underperforming again. Unfortunately, Edgardo Alfonzo won’t be back next year as the Mets didn’t offer him arbitration, so he can’t sign with them until at least May 1st. Stupid rule, if you ask me.

Looks like I’m getting a little better at keeping this up to date. Hopefully that will continue.

whew

Thanks to MovableType saving all my templates in a database not located in my public_html directory, the fact that I deleted my whole web directory without a backup only took about an hour to restore.

There are still some things not quite how they were, but it’s a relief more damage didn’t happen.

Update: I’d also like to thank my web browsers’ caches at work and at home, and the all powerful Google Cache.

Cool

You can get aerial photos of an address from mapquest. Here’s mine. I’ve highlighted my apartment.

Updates

I keep getting nice reminders from Argyle that I don’t post here enough. And he does it so nicely, with a link back here to show everyone just how little I update this. Maybe I should just stop reading his blog. :)

I went to Kentucky for Thanksgiving. By “went to Kentucky,” I mean drove two hours to LAX, took a four and a half hour flight to Pittsburgh, and then was in a car for ten hours for the drive to Louisville. The last leg of the trip was four hours longer than it should have been, thanks to two truck drivers who decided to get into an accident. Luckily, I had a new toy to play with, having just purchased a GPS. It made the ten hours bearable, and let me keep an eye on how fast my brother was driving.

I got the GPS (a Garmin eTrex Legend) so I could go geocaching, which I did. I went on my first geocache hunt in Kentucky, with my brother, parents, and aunt. For more details on this cache hunt, click here.

The trip back to Santa Barbara was rather uneventful, and didn’t take longer than it should have. Before driving back home from LAX, I went to eat with Andrew. He said there was an IHOP basically on my way home, so we met there. It was closed. What kind of IHOP is closed at 11pm on a Saturday night? So instead, we went to Santa Monica (about 5 miles away), and had the best pizza in California at a place called New York Pizza By The Slice, on the Third Street Promenade.

That is all for now. I’m really going to try to do this more often.
