Mike Jacobs?

Where the hell did this guy come from? Besides AA, I mean. In four games since he’s been called up, he’s hitting .538 with four homers, including one in his first major league AB, and two last night. The Mets are right in the middle of the wildcard race now, tied with three other teams only 2 games back, and only trailing the Phillies and Astros. They’ve also been getting great pitching and scoring a ton of runs, with an 32 over their past two games. They scored 18 last night with Beltran and Floyd a combined 0-7, and Piazza and Cameron out to injury. Even Seo chipped in with a double, a walk, and a few RBIs.

I know I shouldn’t post this, because their losing streak will start tonight because of it. It’s not like they can score this many runs for Pedro, anyway.
