Helpful Computer Tip

If you have a hard drive that you know is going to die, don’t wait until your day off to back it up and replace it.

It will die the day before.

Or maybe that’s just me.

Good tip. I had a drive that was making a horrible noise. Replaced it that weekend (okay, I did wait until I had some time off). But the gist of it is: replace now, not later. After a day of watching it copy the old drive bit by bit, I had a new drive, no noise and the knowledge that had I waited perhaps even another day I would have lost years worth of data (I do back it up regularly, but you get the drift).

How dead is it? will it power up? I had a drive of my folks that windows wouldnt even see and this data recovery pro software got all the data off… good stuff.
